Guys and girls, just an announcement that the Burleigh Heads sunday sunset yoga will not be on this Sunday as I’ll be on the Sunshine coast doing an AcroYoga workshop… which I have been excited about for the past 2 weeks and am literally jumping out of my skin at this point! BUT to all [...]

It’s getting colder and sometimes salads just don’t cut it! Some comfort food may be called for as it gets chillier and windier here in the southern hemisphere, especially if you’re a little low on a little macromineral called potassium… As part of an assignment for the MND I’ve had to put myself through a [...]
Your yoga practice has a powerful effect on your moods and motivation, both in the present moment and in the long term. Does your time on the mat drive you to be better and do all those exciting things you want to achieve? My body is literally buzzing with lunar energy and I feel so [...]
Next time you’re sipping on your life-giving green smoothie, buying organic apples or handing over $15 for a amazing yoga class, spare a thought for the less advantaged communities in Australia (or wherever in the world you are) for whom access to fresh produce, let alone organic or non-GMO, is all too frequently a dream. This satisfying vegan main meets the challenges of vegan nutrition head on! High in fibre and protein; low in sodium and saturated fat. Ben and I had this for dinner last night and it was so yummy… and even better for lunch the next day! I used it as a therapeutic recipe for gluten-free and [...]
Sunlight streamed through the branches of a leafy tree as we laughed and wobbled through standing and arm balances, stretches and a soothing relaxation at the end. These young girls were an absolute pleasure to teach. They were brimming with energy and up for anything! Having a whole group of young people in a class beings a fresh dynamic to the experience of teaching. It was much more like playing; I had so much fun!!
For dinner tonight I was really craving nuts and sweetness, but I didn’t want to sit down and scoff an expensive and heavy “fix hunger NOW” meal of nuts and dried fruits as I’ve done in the past! So I decided to incorporate what I was craving into a healthy salad and voila.. it was delicious, nutritious and satisfying whilst still giving me the crunchy texture and sweet flavour I desired.
This is a really rich, creamy dessert that is made of whole foods and is high in valuable goodies your body likes. Drinking the chilled, sweet coconut water to kick off your day is one of my great loves and reminds me of mornings on a tropical island in Thailand! You can scoop the flesh out after drinking the coconut and store it in the fridge to make the mousse later.
“Hey! I’m in Urdhva Dhanurasana, who cares about my belly rolls!” Negative thoughts can either shatter your self-confidence and inner strength, or serve as a reminder to keep it real and forget about pre-conceived notions of how you should look. Yoga is an easily accessible way to reveal these voices for what they really are, and it gives us the tools to conquer them rather than succumb.
