Sweetheart Chocolate Cherry Pistachio Pie

February 16, 2011 ( Categories Recipes | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , )

Here is an insanely delicious and sexy dessert, reminescent of a crunchy, gooey cherry ripe, but without the heaviness of typical nut-based raw desserts, and definitely without all the unhealthy refined fats and sugars! You might want to make extra to bring it to work for your colleagues to try. They will undoubtedly be begging for more… that’s just the kind of dessert it is ;)

A very delicious day! Standing balances are wonderful for developing strong, powerful legs, emotional stability and mental clarity. They bring us back down to EARTH. I indulge in dessert on a daily basis [...]

Drinking the chilled, sweet coconut water to kick off your day is one of my great loves and reminds me of mornings on a tropical island in Thailand! You can scoop the flesh out after drinking the coconut and store it in the fridge to make the mousse later.

Green Coconut Magic

March 20, 2010 ( Categories Recipes | Tags: , , , )

Cracking a coconut open is a lot harder than the Thais made it look. I spent 6 months in Thailand and always marvelled at how effortlessly they could cut open a fresh green coconut. It became my favourite thing to consume in southern Thailand. That said, managing to hack open the young coconut I bought [...]

Raw Cinnamon Apple-Pear Pie with Pecan-Date Crust

March 13, 2010 ( Categories Recipes | Tags: , , , , , , , )

This recipe from Natalia Rose’s book, The Raw Food Detox Diet, is not difficult but introduces new flavours to some and requires a touch of artistry to break away from the predictable. It’s full of tasty enzymes and good-for-you nutrients, but is light and delicious and a beautiful dessert to serve loved ones! I used [...]
